Natural-language processing Study Project

Assistant Professor Yamanishi collaborating with Mr. Matsuoka and Associate Professor Nishihara from Ritsumeikan is developing a new Japanese Study method and is looking for 10 participants with a Japanese level of approximately N3 or higher to trial run the project. Upon completion you will be awarded a $25 Amazon Canada Gift Card. Please make sure you are able to commit to all of the conditions listed below before submitting your information.
The project will consist of the following:

  • 30 minute presentation at our office in Vancouver by Assistant Professor Yamanishi, visiting from Ritsumeikan University.
  • Three 30-minute individual study sessions once per day over three days using a new manga-style learning system (done online from home).
  • A test and survey upon completion.

It starts at 5:45pm PST at the Yokoso Japan Association office in Vancouver and the presentation is starting at 6:30pm PST. You must register and be accepted before that time.

    On February 21st from 5:45pm and the presentation starting at 6:30pm PST at our office (#320-890 W. Pender St., Vancouver BC) with an explanation of the project. Participation is mandatory. You will need to commit to spending three sessions of 30-minutes studying Japanese with the this system and will have one week to complete these sessions. You must complete this by February 28th and complete a test and survey.

    I would like to participate in this study survey being done by Ritsumeikan.

    My Japanese level is approximately JLPT N3 or better.

    I am able to join the presentation on February 21st from 6:30pm to 7:00pm.

    I am able to commit to studying for three sessions of 30 minutes before February 28th (30x3 = 90 minutes total of study).

    I will be able to complete the test and fill out the survey after I have completed the study sessions.
