Kyoto Institute of Culture & Language – Long term course
Do you like to study Japanese culture more? Do you like travelling? What do you think about studying Japanese in Kyoto?
Kyoto Institute of Culture & Language has a great Japanese program course. In our blog, we introduced KICL’s summer course before, but today is KICL’s long term course. There are three different lengths you can take: 6-months, 1 year and two years. It might seem like a long course, but there is so much to see and learn in Kyoto!!
About the School
The school is in Kyoto: one of the most popular destinations in Japan. The school is located on the campus of the Kyoto University Art of Design so you will have lots of interaction with Japanese students. The school gives you an opportunity to take what you have learned in the classroom and put it to practical use in real situations through their activities and programs.
About the Course
The course has 7 different levels and a promotion system, so the students are always in a class that suits their levels. In this long term course, the students can definitely achieve higher levels without wasting their time. At KICL, there are 2 main groups of classes which are “compulsory classes” and “elective classes”. The first group, required subjects, consists of Japanese Basic, Presentation and Culture Study. You will study these subjects 20 hours/week. The second group, elective subjects, consists of JLPT class or EJU class. Students can choose either and study about 4 hours/week. If you are thinking to go to University after this course, you can focus on achieving a higher score as well. As mentioned earlier, KICL is a part of the Kyoto University Art of Design, there are many collaborated classes or events like the students can take a class at the University, party with other students, internship at companies, etc..
