About NILS

Location

NILS offers a wide variety of programs to allow you to study what you want, how you want. Whether you want to study for a short time over the summer or between semesters, or whether you want to dive in a bit deeper and study for a year, a year and a half, or even two years, NILS has got you covered. They have programs for those who want to study culture, programs for those who prefer to focus on academic studies, programs for those aiming to do well on the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), programs for those who are planning to enrol in a Japanese university, and more.

NILS has 2 campuses in Fukuoka prefecture. One is in Fukuoka city and the other one is in Ogori city. The Fukuoka city campus is located downtown, only minutes from the train station, and is the primary campus for the Short Term program. The Ogori campus is the home base for the Long Term (1-2 years) program. Fukuoka is famous for the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival. “But Gion is in Kyoto!” you might be saying. That’s true, but if you use that as a reason not to go see the Fukuoka version, you’re going to miss out on a 5 kilometer all-out festival float race.
